Independent Study
(Biol 499)
Each semester 3-4 students enroll in Independent Study and perform research in my lab. Any student who is interested in joining the lab should contact me (M. O'Connell's homepage) well ahead of time, ideally two semesters before they wish to join the lab. Each student must sign up for at least two semesters, and typically for 3 credits per semester.
Listed below are the requirements of an Independent Study:
the student must be available to work approximately 10-15 hours a week
the student must attend all departmental seminars
the student must write a research paper at the end of the research project, and present a poster each spring at the Celebration of Student achievement
