What's Lions' EMS?

Lions' EMS is the campus Emergency Medical Service at The College of New Jersey. We provide timely, efficient, and professional prehospital emergency care to the campus. This service is provided from 8PM - 8AM on the weekdays and 24 hours on the weekends. There is also "All Call", a 24 hour service during the weekdays that is open to experienced EMTs. In addition, Lions' EMS also runs standbys at many campus events including sporting events, concerts, comedy shows, and campus fairs. Members are allowed free admittance to these events!

What about Training?

No experience is required to join Lions' EMS! In fact, we encourage people with no experience to try EMS. We will provide the training necessary to participate in shifts. Throughout the year, there are training classes provided for members. For EMTs, there are also opportunities to earn CEU credits!

Interested in Joining?

Great! First off, thanks to all who signed up at the Activities Fair. We had quite an overwhelming response. If you did not get a chance to sign up, you can do so by sending us an e-mail at lionsems@tcnj.edu. Be sure to include your name, phone number, and address. You can also get started by attending one of our meetings, which are posted on the Calendar.

Membership Applications

To start the ball rolling to join our wonderful organization the first step is to fill out one of our membership applications. For all new members, please fill out this application while for all returning members this is the form for you. Don't worry, it's not a formal application (because any and all of you will be able to join) but it is just a means by which we can obtain all the necessary information that we need before you can start running shifts.

Anything else I should know?

Once you have your application filled out, just come by one of our meetings, introduce yourself (because we'd love to meet you), and hand it in so we can now start our side of the process. If you would like to start ASAP, a couple of other things we will need from you are a few photocopies (that is, of your driver's license, TCNJ ID, immunization records aka. the TCNJ "yellow card", and all other relevant certifications) and we'll need you to get a TB test (which is free-of-charge for all LEMS members at Health Services). After that, you will need to schedule an orientation through either our Chief, Deputy Chief, or Training Officer and then you will receive the coveted title of Lions' EMS Member.
