Undergraduate Fellowship Program

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 1, 2009
The Application & Selection Process
:

Students will be nominated by their campuses and should complete the application process through their nominating campuses. Applications are available at the Center for Academic Success, Forcina Hall 142.

Selection will be based on review of the students' academic and economic backgrounds; personal statements; and at least two faculty recommendations.

Twenty-five (25) students will be selected statewide.

If selected, program participation takes place during the spring semester of their junior year and during the fall & spring semesters of their senior year. Students will be expected to attend workshops, seminars, and conferences with Mentors as scheduled.

The application packet can be obtained from the Center for Academic Success in Forcina Hall 142 and is comprised of:

  • Nomination form
  • Application form (The nominating person should also sign the application.)
  • Names and phone numbers of the two (2) faculty recommendations. Those faculty members are to complete Part IV of the application.
  • Affidavit of Disadvantaged Background form
  • Personal Statement
    Your personal statement should explain why are you interested in the MAC Undergraduate Fellowship Program.
  • Essay
    For your essay, think about a teacher or faculty member who has had an important impact (either positive or negative) on you, and write a brief essay describing this individual and how that person has affected you and your academic career.
  • Once copy of most recent Official Transcript
  • One copy of current semester class schedule
