Mission Statement

The Center for Academic Success exists to provide students with concrete strategies that will facilitate success across the educational span through to the baccalaureate degree.

CAS was established to provide students with access to personalized coaching and advisement with the gaol of strengthening their academic performance and promoting students success and retention. The staff is dedicated to the academic success and development of the "whole student." Emphasis is placed on helping students facilitate a smooth transition from high school to college with regard to both academic and personal growth.

"The Keys to Success" is the motto for the Center for Academic Success with its corresponding Chinese Proverb:

"The keys to success aren't much good until one discovers the right locks in which to insert them."

All students who have been accepted to TCNJ have "The Keys to Success." The mission of our office is to help students to find which are their "right locks" and subsequently achieve their fullest potential.

CAS Advising Philosophy and Approach

Caring Counselors take a holistic approach to serving students by exploring multiple aspects of service for the same student over a period of time.  CAS uses a Developmental Advising approach to assist students with educational and academic advisement as well as other challenges which could impede their success.
