Forums & Special Projects

The Center is involved in two innovative grant projects that are linking the College to international and national networks. Both are forging new partnership models and developing creative ways for various institutions to unite around the common goal of improving our communities and neighborhoods--while simultaneously providing important pathways for TCNJ professors to teach and students to learn.

The national PolicyOptions project continues the tradition here at TCNJ of identifying the needs and interests of the community--and integrating those into the curriculum. What makes this project unique, however, is the use of the web and wiki technology to make information available to non profit partners locally--as well as similar organizations around the country. There are currently ___ colleges and universities involved in this initiative.

The international Bridge to Employment program has united TCNJ with one of the nation's most significant corporations (Johnson and Johnson and its subsidiary Jansenn) and a range of higher education institutions from around the world--and their public school partners. This includes teams from Colombia, Ireland, California and Scotland. Most of the teams are working to increase access to higher education and the health care field for non-traditional or at-risk high school students.

As part of its mission to help educate and engage members of the campus and local communty, the Bonner Center also works with a variety of partners to organize critical issues forums, two events with Kidsbridge that focused on the genocide in Darfur and the Sudan.
