Social Entrepreneurship

David Prensky is the founding Director of the Bonner Center, which coordinates the College's community outreach efforts. Dave concentrates his efforts on the Nonprofit Management Program, the Program in Entrepreneurship for the Public Good, and other external outreach efforts of the Center. Prior to the founding of the Bonner Center in 2004, Dave was the Dean of the School of Business from 2000 through 2004 and a member of the marketing faculty at TCNJ since 1990. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago, an M.A. from Indiana University, and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Dave’s academic work was in the areas of organizations and organizational research, where he focused on nonprofit organizations and public policy issues. He began his professional career in advertising and marketing research, producing strategic analyses for clients of the national advertising agencies Needham Harper Worldwide and N.W. Ayer.

Valerie Koch is a junior majoring in Sociology with a minor in Economics. After graduating, she hopes to spend some time working abroad followed by a one-year fellowship program in Washington, DC. She is eager to continue studying at the graduate level in either Public Policy or law and stay in the DC area. This summer, she will be assisting Dr. Prensky and could not be more excited to learn about the socio-economic conditions in Trenton. Some of her past experiences include interning at the National Breast Cancer Coalition, working on petition drives in South Dakota and New Jersey, organizing as a coordinator for Rock the Vote, and participating in the Lion’s Apprentice on campus. Outside of academics, Valerie waitresses at Charlie Brown’s and enjoys venturing to new restaurants so that she may indulge herself with sushi and delicious vegetarian food.
