Animal Shelter visits

ARNJ formed a partnership with SAVE, a no-kill animal shelter in Princeton, New Jersey.  Some of us in the club attended an orientation in September and have been volunteering since then.  It is a great experience and is a lot of fun.  Activities that we have done so far include:

If you are interested in volunteering at the animal shelter, you need to attend a volunteer orientation at SAVE which usually run once a month.  The upcoming orientations are October 20th and November 17th, 2007.  Please email us if you would like to volunteer.  If you would like to learn more about SAVE visit their website at www.save-animals.org

More vegetarian food to campus

Have you ever wanted more vegetarian/vegan food at TCNJ?  Even if aren't vegetarian, were you ever looking for some healthy, yet delicious food to have? Well, WE ARE!

We are the process of bringing changes to TCNJ dining; here is some helpful information so far.

The C-Store now stocks a range of products from Amy's, which is a vegetarian line and the leading natural food brand.  Current selections in the C-store include burritos, macaroni and cheese, and full entrees.

Eickhoff Hall does serve GardenBurger veggie burgers where the beef burgers are sold but you have to request for one.

At the deli section in Eickhoff, they serve soy tuna and soy chicken.

We sponsored a rabbit!

In December 2007, we began our sponsorship of Ronald the rabbit at the Popcorn Park Zoo,  which is a sanctuary for sick, abused, and handicapped animals.  The history of how Ronald arrived at Popcorn Park is a sad yet common scenario.  Someone purchased him as a cute "Easter pet" but subsequently realized that they could not care for him and released him into the wild.  We have provided the funding to sponsor him for the next year and we are looking forward to visiting him in the near future.   As we hear updates about Ronald, we will post them here.
