Kiplinger’s Personal Finance recently released its ranking of the country’s top 50 values in public higher education, and The College of New Jersey has made the list yet again. 
President Gitenstein has been honored by the American Association of University Professors, receiving the Ralph S. Brown Award for Shared Governance.
Ellen Frede, associate professor of elementary/early childhood education at TCNJ, was recently named co-director of the National Institute for Early Education Research.
Due to a New Jersey State Department of Environmental Protection mandate, one of the two lakes bordering TCNJ's campus, Lake Ceva, is set to be drained this fall so that necessary repairs can be made to the lake’s dam. 
One of the newest additions to the College’s Art Department is the new art gallery director, Sarah Cunningham. 
The event’s keynote speaker, Ethan Canin, author of this year’s summer reading book, The Palace Thief, spoke about what it means to have integrity and how it applies to writers of fiction.
