Summer and Fall 2009 Semester To-Do's
Did you sign up for Fall 2009 classes? Will you need financial aid to help you pay for your classes? How about a payment plan? Get the heads up on all of your To-Do's here!
- Complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Remember, the state of New Jersey’s deadline for filing the FAFSA for receipt of the Tuition Aid Grant is June 1, 2009.
- Read and review the results of the Student Aid Report (SAR). You should review your SAR for any necessary corrections or updates. If you do not hear from the federal processor, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and select “check the status of a submitted 2009-2010 FAFSA.”
- Be sure to review TCNJ’s new loan program effective Fall 2009, The Direct Loan Program. Check the Financial Assistance home page for a link to Direct Lending information.
- Be sure your tuition payment plan contract is in place for Fall 2009. The first payment of a 10 month payment plan is due June 25, 2009.
- If you have not already done so, sign up a responsible bill payer to receive e-billing notification directly to their own e-mail address. Visit www.tcnj.edu/~sfs/account and click on Sign up Responsible Bill Payer for E-mail Notifications. Only one alternate e-mail can be registered per person.
- View your financial aid and billing information located in PAWS. Here you will find information regarding your student billing account and financial aid.
- Check the PAWS section titled “To Do List” to see a list of outstanding documents. These documents include Financial Aid requirements as well a requirements from other departments such as Immunization Documentation from Health Services.
- Comply with all requests for verification documents i.e. parents and student 2008 taxes and W-2 forms, Dependent or Independent Verification Forms with signatures.
- Check your campus e-mail during the summer months for important Student Accounts and Financial Aid correspondence.
- Apply for alternative student loans early if you need additional funds to cover your bill, books, or living expenses. Payment is due August 14, 2009 (Fall semester).
- Confirm your attendance for the Fall 2009 semester
- Spring and Summer Graduates—Students with loans must complete Exit Counseling at www.mappingyourfuture.org. A hold will be placed on your transcript if not completed.
Students may be notified of additional Exit responsibilities which must be completed as well.
