Avoid fall financial frenzy!

Financial Services "To-Do" List

  1. Before beginning the FAFSA, get organized!  To simplify filling out the FAFSA, gather the required documents and other information.
  2. Prepare your FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA on the Web Worksheet:  www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  3. Complete the 2007-08 FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA.  If filing FAFSA/Renewal FAFSA on the web, go directly to www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  4. Remember to include TCNJ's Federal School Code, 002642, as requested for "schools to receive information".  To insure completion of the FAFSA and to apply faster, sign your FAFSA with a U.S. Department of Education PIN.  If you do not have a PIN, you can apply for one at www.pin.ed.gov.  If you are providing parent information, one parent must sign your FAFSA.  To sign electronically, your parent can also apply for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
  5. Meet The College of New Jersey's recommended deadline for filing the FAFSA by March 1, 2007.
  6. Read/review the Student Aid Report (SAR)) for necessary corrections or updates.  If you do not hear from the federal processor within three weeks, go to: www.fafsa.ed.gov and select "check the status of a submitted FAFSA".
  7. Summer Financial Aid Applications are available on March 1, 2007.  Visit our web site: www.tcnj.edu/~sfs/aid/summer.html.
