Does the college owe you money?

The Office of Student Accounts reviews the status of all student accounts after the Office of Financial Assistance makes the aid distribution.  If a credit balance exists on your account, the money will be refunded to the student.

The method of refund depends on how the credit balance was generated.  Overpayments made by cash or check are refunded by check from the college.  Overpayments made by credit card are refunded back to the credit card.

Students can view their account status on TESS.  If receiving a refund, a line stating "Refund to Student" will appear with the corresponding date the refund will be available to the student.

Refund checks are available on Wednesdays between 10:00am and 1:00pm in the Office of Budget and Finance located in the Admin Services Building.  If the check is not picked up during these times, it will be mailed to the student's permanent address as it appears on TESS.

The Office of Records and Registration is responsible for documentation of eligibility for a refund if a student withdraws from the College.  The computing of refunds is based on the official date on which the Office of Student Life receives written notification of withdrawal by the student.  It is not based upon the last date of class attendance.

If you have any questions regarding a refund please email the Office of Student Accounts at stuaccts@tcnj.edu.
