2007-08 Financial aidThe 2006-07 school year has just started, so you may be thinking that it is too early to talk about financial aid for 2007-08. However, that is not the case. The 2007-08 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) recommended filing date is March 1, 2007, so completing your FAFSA on-line can help you meet this important date. Missing the March 1st filing date can decrease your opportunities for financial aid in some cases. January 1, 2007 is the first day you will be able to sumit a 2007-08 FAFSA on-line via FAFSA on the Web. You can do this by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov. Remember that students and their parents (for dependent students) will need a Federal Personal Identification Number (P.I.N.) to electronically sign the FAFSA on the Web. If you have never received a P.I.N. or if you are unable to remember your P.I.N., go to www.pin.ed.gov for P.I.N. registration. It is also important to list the TCNJ college code, 002642, on the FAFSA for TCNJ to receive the information electronically. At this stage, the best thing you can do is put a note on your calendar around January 1, 2007 reminding yourself that it is time to complete your 2007-08 FAFSA. Remember, make sure the FAFSA is in the hands of the federal processor no later than March 1, 2007 to be considered on-time!
