Returning to the coaching staff for a fifth season is Chris Balent. He will serve as an assistant coach with responsibilities for recruiting, scouting, and assisting with practice and game planning. Balent has played a major role in the Lions' program as the director of recruiting. He has quickly built a reputation as being an outstanding recruiter.

He is a graduate and former player at Lock Haven University and Dunellen High School. He has extensive summer camp experience. He also worked as an assistant coach from 1992-94 at Dunellen High School. He served as assistant varsity coach for Bound Brook High School from 1994-1997.
