Doug Smith (Chief/President)

• Passed out Returning Member Form to any returning LEMS members
• Requested that all call sheets for runs made before Sept. 15, 2005 be returned to the closet ASAP
• New and returning membership applications can be returned to either Nicole or Health Services
• $10 is not mandatory – if you pay the membership fee, you will be provided the LEMS uniform T-shirt

Kevin Mnich (Training and Personnel Captain)

· Handed out CPR and First Aid Training forms

· An EMT course will be offered this semester from Oct. 18 – Dec. 17

· A Core 13 class will be offered from Dec. 1-4 for all members needing an EMT recertification

· Training Fund Forms for EMT certification course fee exemption are available from Kevin

· Tonight 9/21/05 from 7:30-10:00 PM is a First Aid Council Meeting for the district

o Emergency response crews from around the district meet together to discuss healthcare-related issues

o Kevin would like at least 2 people to go with him to each meeting

o Anyone interested in attending future meetings, contact Kevin

· Contact Kevin for forms involving the EMT course to be held this semester mnich2@tcnj.edu

Bruce Cheong (Deputy Chief)

· Signups are available for 5 sports standbys this weekend at Green Lane Field

· New members are welcome to go if their papers are in

ORIENTATION

Station 1: Doug Smith, Ray Shupak, Regina Cummings

• Handed out “How to be a LEMS Duty Member” sheet
• Discussed what happens on EMS scenes
• Radio etiquette
• Confidentiality
• ResLife

Station 2: Bruce Cheong, Charlie Concodora, Nimit Saraiya

• Active membership
• Criteria and perks of being an active member
• How to get on a duty crew and get equipment
• Reviewed what is a Crew Chief and Co-Crew Chief and what are their responsibilities
• How to become a Crew Chief or Co-Crew Chief
• All-call
• Scheduling

Station 3: Nicole Gerber, Abigail Huang, Chris Mckittrick

• Handed out New Member Application and went over it
• Member files
• In order to run, a copy of all certifications, drivers license, student ID, proof of physical and TB test are needed
• Standby events: sports, concerts, campus events
• Special events: blood pressure screening, End-of-Year LEMS Banquet, planned LEMS social gatherings

Station 4: Kevin Mnich, Ricky Blasi, Carolyn Botros

• Answered any questions about training
• Discussed past/potential fundraising events
• Explained the use of all items in the orange emergency bags and their locations
