My Professional Activities during 2009

  1. Presented an accepted paper entitled "Second Life: Will Virtual Worlds Continue to be Important in Higher Education?" to the Third International Conference of the American Institute of Higher Education. The conference was held in Nashville, TN from April 29 to May 1, 2009.


  2. Presented a two-hour workshop entitled "Second Life, A Virtual World: Will It Play a role in the Future of Crisis Centers?" at the 33rd Annual Convening Conference for CONTACT USA and Lifeline International. The conference was held at the Marriott Hotel in Chicago, Illinois from May 5 to May 8, 2009.


  3. I attended the "Data Mining for Educators Summer Program" at the SAS Institute in Cary, North Carolina from July 20 to July 24, 2009. This five-day course included SAS programming essentials for Educators II, Customer Segmentation with Numeric and Textual Data, Joint Teaching Experiences, and Issues in Linear Model Building and Data Mining.
