My Professional Activities during 2004
- Taught "What If Analysis" using spreadsheet software (Excel) to 10th and 12th grade
students in TCNJ's CollegeBound program on Saturday, February 7,
2004.
- Contracted by Thomas Edison State College to design and create midterm and final exams
for COS 101 and CIS 107, two basic computer-related courses for their DIAL students. This
contract was fulfilled on February 27, 2004.
- Invited to present a lecture on human resources information
systems to Dr. Pamela Kravitz's Human Resource Management classes on
Friday, March 26, 2004. This lecture included the use of the SAP R/3
HR module.
- Attended an all-day faculty mentor workshop at Thomas Edison
State College on Friday, April 30, 2004. This workshop included talks and
discussions on their DIAL program in which faculty mentor students as they
fulfill course requirements.
- Presented a seminar on database modeling and design to The College of New Jersey's 2004 NonProfit Management Program on May
5, 2004.
This two-hour presentation was given to eighteen directors of local nonprofit agencies.
- Accepted an offer from the director of TCNJ's Collegebound Program on May 10, 2004 to become the Interim Coordinator for the Area
of Computer
Science. This position involves the hiring of faculty, determining the coursework to be studied in each grade level, reserving
classrooms and labs for classes, assuring that grades and reports are handed in at the close of the program, and attending coordinator
and faculty meetings.
- Taught Javascript programming to eleventh and twelfth graders
who attended the 2004 Collegebound summer session at The College of New
Jersey.
- Did database consulting for the Regional Plannning Partnership,
a nonprofit agency located in Trenton, N.J. This consultation involved
redesigning their database system to track membership data.
- Taught a section of MAT 125, Calculus for Business for TCNJ's mathematics and statistics department.
