About:
This one day course will show attendees how to use GIS and HEC-HMS to collect
watershed characteristic data such as Longest Hydraulic Length, Average
Watershed Slope, Curve Number, and Time of Concentration. Additionally, examples within HMS will focus
on the application of the HMR-52 rainfall option

Consulting engineers, Water resource planners,
Engineers employed by local, state and federal
government agencies. Participants should have some
prior experience in hydrologic engineering.
About the
Instructor
Dr. Horst is a registered professional engineer
in the state of Pennsylvania with over 20 years of practical water resources
engineering experience, the types of projects he has completed include:

He
received his B.S, M.Eng, and Ph.D. from The
Pennsylvania State University, all with an emphasis on water resources
engineering. Currently, Dr. Horst
teaches water resources and environmental engineering classes within the
Department of Civil Engineering at The College of New Jersey. Additionally
he has been teaching continuing education short courses for the benefit of
practicing engineers since 1997.
