PARKING LOT DESIGN ASSIGNMENT

Design a parking lot to the following specifications:

AVAILABLE LAND:    Corner property is illustrated.











             SEE HANDOUT FOR THE ILLUSTRATION














                   Local regulations require a 10' side walk
                   taken from the available space on two
                   adjacent sides.

PARKING SPACES:    Parking spaces will be 9' by 20'.  If
                   placed diagonally, the 9' measurement will
                   be taken perpendicular to the sides of the
                   space.

AISLES:            Aisles will be a minimum of 25' across at
                   all points. Each parking space must open
                   directly on an aisle. Every aisle must be
                   accessible from each end.


ENTRANCES:        Parking lot street entrances (2) must be a           
                  minimum of 25' in width.


SECURITY:         The lot is enclosed on two sides with a 4'
                  cyclone fence.

REQUIRED:         Your design should provide the maximum      
                  number of spaces which can be accommodated
                  under the above specifications.  Draw the
                  layout on "B" or "C" size paper.  Drawing
                  must include all dimensions, scale, title,
                  area titles, traffic flow arrows, fence,
                  parking space numbers and total plus a key.

                  Address each design item listed on the
                  assignment and handout sheets.

1. 7 Layers (each of a different color)
   Titles:
     MVIEW-it will be a blue continuous line type for
           the MVIEW window.

     PARKING SPACE
     FENCE
     LETTERING
     BORDER

2. Title Block-must contain the following items:
     Drawing title and number
     Scale (1"=30')
     Date
     Name
