LABOR AND MACHINE ASSIGNMENT CALCULATION PROJECT


PROBLEM:   Calculate the required labor for past machine
             load problems 4 and 6A.  For problem 4 assume
             the following:

               Work two eight hour shifts a day
               Absenteeism = 6%
               Operators are used elsewhere during DT & SU
               Labor efficiency = machine efficiency
               Crew sizes for machines I=2, II=3 & III=1

             For problem 6A assume the following:

               Work one 8 hour shift per day
               Absenteeism = 5%
               Labor used elsewhere during DT
               Labor needed for SU (workers do their own SU)
               Labor efficiency = 94%
               Crew sizes = 1

REQUIRED:  Place all calculations in tabular form

           Clearly illustrate and explain each calculation
             step for each problem

PROBLEM:   Calculate the machine assignments by machine
             number for past machine load problems 2, 4 & 5
