General Announcements
Executive Board Introductions

New Jersey Deaf Ed Sweatshirts
Sweatshirts were distributed at today’s meeting. Thanks to everyone who ordered one. Please remember to wear them proudly :) If you are interested in purchasing one please email the club (deafhc@tcnj.edu) and we will look into doing another order in the Fall.

Upcoming Events
Relay for Life
It is not too late to sign up for DHC’s Relay for Life team. Please refer to the email sent out earlier from Lauren if you are interested in becoming a team member. Thank you to everyone who has joined so far…DHC is one of the top money raisers at TCNJ! Remember, we will be walking this week on Friday night-Saturday morning in the Rec. Center. Stay tuned for an email later in the week.

MKSD Field Day
Our Spring Field Day at MKSD is set for Wednesday, April 23, 2008. If you are interested in participating please email DHC (deafhc@tcnj.edu) NO LATER THAN Friday, April 11, 2008. You MUST sign up to come to the Field Day, as we are required to provide MKSD with an official list of who is participating, and we also need to set up carpool arrangements. If you email us about attending, please let us know if you a) need a ride or b) can drive. If you can drive, then also let us know how many people can fit in your car.

On Field Day (4-23-2008) we will be meeting near the ATM’s in the Student Center at 12:15. We will then carpool over to MKSD and set up the stations/activities/games. If you wish to participate in Field Day, please note that it will run from approx. 12:15 when we meet in the Student Center to 2:30 pm when we arrive back at TCNJ. An email will be sent early next week to those of you who will be attending.

“Sweet Nothing in My Ear”
DHC will be hosting a large-screen viewing of “Sweet Nothing in My Ear” on Sunday, April 20, 2008. The show starts at 8pm so plan to arrive a little beforehand. We have reserved BCS 210 (which is in the Student Center) to view the movie as a group :) We hope to see you there.

Committees
By joining a committee you can become an active member in DHC! You can help run fundraisers, plan large or small events, or create flyers for publicity. Read on below to see which committee you would be most interested in joining. Each Executive Board member will act as the liaison for one committee.
Publicity (Liaison – Lauren Senko) – help get DHC’s name out there, advertise for our events with flyers, chalking, newspaper ads, etc. Put those artistic abilities of yours to work by joining this committee!
Programs (Liaison – Monica Doherty) – you will work to bring different speakers, groups, etc. to our campus, you will be responsible for planning and organizing such events and programs
Outreach (Liaison – Elaine Smolen) – you will work to think up different ways in which we can reach out to the Deaf community (i.e. the Paired Reading project, MKSD Field Days, etc.)
Fundraising (Liaison – Nicole Lavender) – this committee is self-explanatory! Help think up ideas for fundraisers and carry through with actually fundraising for the club.
Historian – redesign and update our bulletin board throughout the year, take pictures at our different events, start up a DHC scrapbook to record our activities
