Meeting Minutes 10/19/05

Coldstone Night—It’s official we’re going to have a Coldstone Creamery Fundraiser Night!!!! We’re looking at
Sunday November 13th as a tentative date, but we’ll let you know when it’s finalized. We’re going to
need volunteers to help out scooping ice cream and whatnot, so be on the lookout for signups.

Graduate Student Reunion Dinner—On November 30th, some grad students from the Deaf Ed. program have a seminar
here at TCNJ. We’re thinking of having dinner with them afterwards (we’ll let you know of a time when we
get one) and just catching up with them on what they’ve been doing and what experiences they’ve had so
far.

Ocean Deaf Club, Inc is presenting their 20th Annual Holiday Dinner and Lingo Night on December 17th from
4-11 PM. You get dinner and lingo (no one’s really sure what that is) fro $36. If you want more
information, you can e-mail the club.

Also on December 17th, we’re planning to go see a shadow interpreted performance (the signers are in costume
and stand next to the actors on stage, signing what they say) of Scrooge at the Ritz Theater in Oaklyn,
NJ. Guess what??? Points are finally making an appearance! Tickets are normally $9 but if you’ve
accumulated 10 points by the time of the show (well, the time we start collecting money for the show) you
get to go for only $5! Of course, if you can’t/don’t want to go to the show you can save your points and
use them for cool prizes to be named later! You can also save your points and pay full price if you want
to.

Points—As previously mentioned, points are beginning to make an appearance. We’ve started keeping track of
how many everyone has and we’re coming up with prizes and other incentives. How do you get points? I’m
glad you asked! You get a point for every meeting you come to and every event you volunteer for (unless
otherwise noted).

And finally…..
Our big project for next semester (and probably the rest of this semester) is….Trying to bring the Little
Theater of the Deaf back to TCNJ!!!!!!! For those of you who didn’t see their awesome show last year, LTD
is a children’s theater division of the National Theater of the Deaf. Their performance is signed, but
there is a voice interpreter. I know this isn’t a lot of information so far, but trust me, you’ll be
getting MUCH more! (In case you couldn’t tell, I’m very excited about this!).

Have a great Fall Break/Homecoming Weekend everyone (and a Happy Halloween since we won’t meet before
then)!!!!!!!!!! See you all at our next meeting on November 2nd!
