CENTER STAFF:

Dr. Candice Feiring is the Center Director and Senior Research Scholar. She coordinates the research and training activities of the Center and is responsible for its daily operations. Her research focuses on processes (such as shame, attribution and social support) related to adjustment in sexually abused youth and adolescent romantic relationships. Dr. Feiring has been honored with a William T. Grant Faculty Scholars award and has been the recipient of federally funded grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, Department of Justice, and Department of Education. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Research on Adolescence and is the Editor of Child Maltreatment. She was a member of the NIMH "Psychosocial development, risk and prevention" study section, the New Jersey Governor's Council on Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (2003-2007)and is an advisor for the National Center of Child Traumatic Stress. Dr. Feiring is the Principle Investigator on a NIMH supported longitudinal study of processes related to adjustment following the discovery of sexual abuse. This project spans development from childhood into young adulthood and has been instrumental in guiding theory and intervention for youth with a history of sexual abuse. Dr. Lynn S. Taska is a Research Scholar at the Center. She is a clinical expert in the treatment of sexual abuse survivors and juvenile perpetrators of sexual abuse. Her research interests concern factors related to victim's adjustments as well as the development of perpetrating behavior. Dr. Taska is the project coordinator for the NIMH longitudinal study concerning adjustment following sexual abuse discovery. FORMER STAFF:

Ms. Patricial Lynch , LCSW, was a clinician associated with the Center. Before coming to TCNJ she was a Mental Health Clinician at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. She has expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals with a history of sexual abuse, substance abuse, and jevenile perpetrators. Ms. Lynch was the project social worker for the NIMH longitudinal study concerning adjustment following sexual abuse discovery. She currently works as a clinician at treatment center in Rochester Minesota.

Ms. Susan Darlow was a student research assistant at the Center. Ms. Darlow graduated in May 2004 with a B.A. in Psychology and plans to attend graduate school in Social Psychology.

Mr. Mark Dane was a consultant at the Center. Mr. Dane graduated in May 2004 with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Fine Arts.

Ms. Diane Losardo was a student research assistant at the Center. Ms. Losardo graduated in May 2004 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Statistics. She plans to attend graduate school in Psychology.
