THE FIRST PASS

The hike to Machu Pichu begins when the train from Cuzco

drops you off at the trail head, which is at roughly 6,000' elevation

......................................................................

The first of three passes is the first day's objective. The top

is at 14,200'. Because of the train schedule you can only hike for

1/2 day and so the objective is to get as close to the top as you can.
