A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS!
The test will be worth 80 points and will constitute
between 22% & 25% of the total number of points
for the course.
You will have 1hr and 20min to work on the test.
All of your work must be placed in the "Blue Book(s)"
that will be provided for you.
The answers in the Blue Book(s) must appear in the same order
as they appear on the test sheet, and so you will need to
plan ahead and leave necessary space if you intend to
work the problems out of order.

The test will include only course material covered up to
and including Tuesday, March 23, 1999.
Special Note: FOR THIS TEST GRAPHING CALCULATORS WILL BE ALLOWED

1. Know from memory the following tests for series convergence
or divirgence and be able to apply them to problem situations:
Comparison Test (pg 624)
Limit Comparison Test (pg 626)
Alternating Series test (pg 629)
Alternating Series Estimation Theroem (pg632)
Ratio Test (pg 636)
Root Test (pg 638)
2. Know the definition of absolute and conditionally convergent
series (pg 634 & pg635)
3. Know the definition of a power series (pg 643)
4. Know the definition of the radius and interval of convergence
of a power series (pg 645 with reference to Theorem (3) )
5. Know the properties of the differentiation and integration
of power series (Theorem (2) pg 649)
6. Given funtion f(x), which is infinitely differentiable,
know the definition of its Taylor series expansion ( (6) pg 654 )
7. Know Taylor's Remainder Formula ( (9) pg 656 ) and be able to
use it to show a given function equals its Taylor Series
expansion.
