A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS!

The test will be worth 80 points and will 
constitute roughly 25% of the total number of test points
for the course.

You will have 1hr and 20min to work on the test.

All of your work must be placed in the "Blue Book(s)"
that will be provided for you.

The answers in the Blue Book(s) must appear in the same order
as they appear on the test sheet, and so you will need to
plan ahead and leave necessary space if you intend to
work the problems out of order.

    

....Specific Information About The Exam....

    

The following specific topics should be studied:

1. All homework assignments posted on the web since 9-24 to 11-3 
   Sections 8.3,8.4,8.5,5.1,5.2,5.3,5.4,5.5
   
2. Be able to state all necessary and sufficient conditions for
   a nearly connected graph to contain either a open or closed 
   edge path.
   
3. Be able to explain why a connected graph can't contain a closed
   vertex path if it contains a terminal vertex
   
4. Be able to explain why a connected graph can't contain a closed
   vertex path if it contains a critical vertex
   
5. Be able to draw the dual graph for any graph used in a
   curve-crossing question   

6. Be able to explain why the Royal Barber is not a "well-defined"
   object in the Universe of people who must either shave themselves
   or be shaved by the Royal Barber, but not both (under the assumption
   that everyone in this universe must be shaved). 
   
7. Be able to explain why every Rational number is either a repeating
   or terminating decimal and why every repeating or terminating 
   decimal is a Rational number.
   
8. Be able to explain why the Real Numbers between 0 and 1, inclusive
   are not equivalent to the Natural Numbers.
