Mission Statement
The College of New Jersey Chapter of the Council For Exceptional Children/Friendship Day Committee is a campus organization focused on relaying current information in the field of Special Education as well as providing a forum for discussion about the issues many people with disabilities face on a day to day basis. We are also committed to organizing and carrying out six friendship day/dances throughout the year. Friendship days/dances provide guests of all abilities from the surrounding area to come together and enjoy a night of friendship, fun, and food. We firmly believe that all people are more alike than different and as an organization we are committed to relaying this belief.

Volunteer Opportunities & Tips
This section provides volunteer tips and a list of available volunteer opportunities.
- Please try to stay the entire time. We know that many of you have busy, packed schedules but we would appreciate it if you could stay as long as possible.
- Food will be provided. For the night dances, snacks and drinks are provided and for the daytime events a meal is provided. You are welcome and encouraged to eat but please let the guests receive their meals first.
- Remember to sign in and out at the front desk. If you have not signed in or out, you may not receive credit for attending.
- Please bring as little with you as possible. We have little storage space; so try not to bring more than a coat and anything you can carry in your pockets.
- If you have any questions, please DO NOT hesitate to ask. By asking you will help us run a more safe and successful event.
- If you think any of the guests may need help or assistance please find a board or club member as soon as possible. While this is unlikely to happen, please do not leave the guest alone. Ask someone to wait with him/her and find a board or club member immediately.
- If you feel comfortable being one on one with one of our guests, please email us and let us know. Thanks!" cec@tcnj.edu
- Have FUN!!! Please remember our guests are some of the nicest, friendliest, most outgoing people you will meet. They love to meet new people and will welcome you into their lives immediately. Take advantage of their friendliness and get to know them. Friendships last a lifetime!
- Be yourself and Have Fun! Thank you so much for helping make our events successful!!!!!
