In the spirit of commemorating the past and embracing the future, The College of New Jersey's Founders' Day celebration on February 9, 2005, will be remembered as the highlight of the yearlong anniversary celebration.

Founders' Day Scavenger Hunt
All Over Campus
In this exciting kickoff event, members of the TCNJ community were tested by exploring the campus like no one ever has before! Teams consisted of an individual, club, organization, or groups of co-workers and friends. $150 cash prize to the winner plus other great prizes for the best teams!

Midnight Madness
Brower Student Center
Students packed the Student Center to countdown to Founders' Day with the College Union Board at this exciting all-night event. Featured events included:
- Gladiator Joust
- DDR Competition
- Mini Golf
- Battle of the Bands
- Blizzard of Bucks
- Texas Hold 'em Tournament
and much, much more!

Founders' Day "Today" Show Bus Trip with Roscoe
Brower Student Center
Over 70 loyal TCNJ'ers joined Roscoe the Lion on a bus trip to Rockefeller Center where we showed our TCNJ pride on national television!

Sunrise Breakfast with the "Today" Show

Everyone who couldn't go on the bus trip could start the birthday celebration with Matt, Katie and Roscoe anyway by stopping by the Rat to catch the TCNJ gang live on the "Today" Show. |

WTSR got the party started and kept it going all day as they took us on a journey through rock and roll history. |

Commemorative Postal Cancellation Ceremony & Sesquicentennial Post Office
Brower Student Center
Hundreds of party-goers brought their Founders' Day invitation, favorite TCNJ postcard or a TCNJ envelope and received a commemorative Sesquicentennial cancellation. Old post cards were also available. The U.S. Postal Service was on hand to officially "stamp" the memorabilia and sell postal collectibles.

Time Capsule Item Collection
Brower Student Center
In October our Sesquicentennial Time Capsule will be placed in the new library and it won't be opened until 2055. Everybody wanted to be a part of this historic event and we received dozens of submissions to be included. Submissions will continue to be accepted until September.

150th Birthday Party
Brower Student Center
Roscoe and his mascot friends partied like it was 1855 in a fun-filled afternoon as we celebrated our 150th birthday. The afternoon featured:
- Live Music with WTSR
- Sesquicentennial Birthday Cake
- Roscoe's Mascot Friends
- Face Painting
- Gifts & Prizes
- Special performance by Jugglers Are Us
- Musical Performances by TCNJ's own Mike Heitmann and Dave Salge.
- Performances by the TCNJ Dance Team, Lions' Cheerleaders, and the Fisher Middle School Drill Team

This special birthday dinner featured clowns, jugglers, balloons, cupcake decorating and tons of fun!

Founders' Day Basketball: TCNJ vs. Rowan
Packer Hall Gymnasium
Hundreds of fans joined Roscoe in cheering for the Lions as they swept the mens/womens doubleheader against Rowan in what has become TCNJ's fiercest rivalry.

Men: LIONS 75, Rowan 54
